How to Determine Your Fitness Level

Nexxfit recommends that you consult a physician before beginning any exercise program.
- Keep in mind that you can always update and change your profile at your own discretion when you are ready to move on.
- Exercises that contain a specific warning are flagged and can be eliminated from your exercise searches and workouts regardless of your fitness level.
- The following are recommendations, and should be considered a general guideline. The choice remains with you, the user.
Beginner - Nexxfit recommends that you consider yourself a BEGINNER when 1 or more of the following criteria apply:
- You have never participated in an exercise program or regimen.
- It has been 1 year or more since you have participated in an exercise program or regimen.
- You are not fully comfortable and confident with exercise form.
- You are not in full control of exercise movements.
- You often have trouble keeping your balance while performing everyday activities.
- You have an injury, or specific exercise restriction.
- You are easily out of breath, nauseous, or light headed while performing exercises at a moderate pace, or with short periods of rest.
- You exhibit extreme inflexibility of the hamstrings and / or lower back.
Experienced - Nexxtfit recommends that you consider yourself EXPERIENCED when all of the following criteria apply:
- You have been exercising inconsistently (on and off) for 1 year or more. That exercise has involved strength training as well as cardiovascular training.
- You are comfortable and confident with exercise form.
- You are in full control of exercise movements.
- You are very steady on your feet and you have no trouble keeping your balance while performing everyday activities.
- You have no acute injury, and no specific exercise restriction.
- You can maintain a moderate exercise pace for at least 30 minutes without feeling extremely out of breath, nauseous, or light headed.
- You have moderate to good flexibility of the hamstrings and / or lower back.
Advanced: Nexxtfit recommends that you consider yourself ADVANCED when all of the following criteria apply:
- You have been exercising consistently for at least 6 months to 1 year. That exercise has involved strength training as well as cardiovascular training.
- You are comfortable and confident with exercise form.
- You are in full control of exercise movements.
- You are very steady on your feet and you have no trouble keeping your balance while performing everyday activities.
- You have no acute injury, and no specific exercise restriction.
- You can maintain an intense exercise pace for at least 30 minutes without feeling extremely out of breath, nauseous, or light headed.
- You have moderate to good flexibility of the hamstrings and / or lower back.
- You have been consistently participating in a Nexxtfit program for at least 1 month.
